Critical Left Main Disease Found Incidentally in a Young Woman Undergoing ASD Device Closure

Key finding

This is as close as the case literature comes to a controlled experiment on the framework's central claim. Most guideline-normal false reassurance cases in this repository are reconstructions. A patient had normal results, disease appeared later, and the missed window is inferred backwards. This case is different in a way that matters methodologically: the patient was imaged while still asymptomatic, for reasons entirely unrelated to coronary disease, and the disease was there. That removes the usual confound. Nobody imaged her because of a suspicion, a symptom, or a risk score. The imaging happened for procedural anatomy. The finding is therefore something close to a random draw from the population of young, symptom-free, risk-factor-free South Asian adults undergoing structural heart intervention — and the draw returned critical left main stenosis. Three features amplify this.
